Flat Trunk

The Studio – Flat Trunk, the ultimate grail.

The most impressive creation that has ever seen the light of day in our handcrafted workshops.

Its size, its work, its investigation, its complications, are a set of tasks that make this work of art unique.

This work was created to gather the elements included in a room, a flat or a studio.

Composed of 4 divisions;

A first division in the left part of the Trunk, where are located :

– 4 sliding storage drawers
– A dressing table with a pull-out shelf
– A mobile seat with interior storage

A second division alongside the first part comprising

– A wardrobe and its hangers in the upper part
– A wardrobe and its hangers in the lower part
– A flap with its mirror, 2 pocket pockets and a hinged shelf

A third division in the right section of the welcoming trunk:

– The pull-out bed and its mattress (140 cm x 200 cm)
– A folding drawer above the bed
– 2 sliding drawers under the bed

A fourth and last division located outside the Trunk (in its back):

– A large desk with two openings on the bed part
– 4 leather and linen storage pockets

A work of art that takes up the authentic codes of travel with a multiform patina that covers the leather exterior.

The interior is entirely covered in orange coated canvas with a midnight blue paint on all the visible wood.

The polished solid brass fittings show the marks of time, adding life and history to the piece.

As a reminder of the international journey, an embossing of the Earth’s Planisphere is integrated on two sides of the trunk.
